The Comic Relief single Islands in the Stream, performed by Gavin and Stacey stars Rob Brydon and Ruth Jones, has taken over the UK number one spot.
Its success adds to the £5.5m raised by Comic Relief singles over two decades.

Rob Brydon is to host the next series of BBC One panel show Would I Lie To You?
The Gavin & Stacey star takes over from Angus Deayton, who presented the first two series. David Mitchell and Lee Mack will return as regulars in the game, in which panelists read out statements about themselves, which the opposing team must decide whether is true or not.
Brydon said: ‘I’m a big fan of Would I Lie To You? and I'm really looking forward to joining David and Lee in my new role as host.’ He will record eight more half-hour episodes at Pinewood Studios shortly, for broadcast later this year.
The show is made by Zeppotron, whose creative director Charlie Brooker will be a guest in this third run.

Rob reads CBEEBIES bedtime stories for Comic Relief. Starting tonight at 6.50 with Doctor Ted, Rob reads the CBEEBIES bedtime story each night this week.
This year's Comic Relief single (Barry) Islands In The Stream will be available to download this Sunday the 8th and to buy in the shops this Monday the 9th.
